Every child of God manifests the two-dimensional nature of Christ, the attributes of the Lion and the Lamb. Jesus was a Lamb and now He is a Lion – the Lion of Judah.
And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”
John 1:36
5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”
Revelation 5:5
The strength of the Lion reflects in the gifts of the spirit, which enables the believer to carry out his divine assignment on earth effectively. While the manifestation of the Lamb is clearly expressed in the fruits of the spirit which helps every believer to develop a sound Christian character. Spiritual equilibrium is maintained when both Gifts and Fruits are combined. Unfortunately, the believer suffers when one of these is magnified to the detriment of the other.
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the sam] Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
The arbitrary use of spiritual power without sound character formation is as destructive as moral discipline without divine assistance. This would amount to sheer works without grace. Grace stimulates a believer to function effortlessly in the pursuit of his or her highest aspiration. Divine power cannot be obtained by human perfection but by grace through Christ Jesus. Gifts are freely given, not earned. While fruits are cultivated. This requires human effort. Well-grounded Christian character is developed by a deliberate act of will, made possible by faith in God. When people try to exercise love without divine help, it always ends in futility. Some people get hurt in the process. Likewise the use of spiritual power without adequate understanding of the principles of love. Both are essential to the believer – they complement each other.
